It's just near this hotel, near where the boardwalk descends down to "Playa de los Corrales", where you will find a picnic area that prohibits making fires given the high risk of a fire breaking out with all of the pine trees here. The boardwalk briefly ends at Hotel Playa de la Luz before picking up again and continuing on through the rest of the forest. For years, friends and families have been able to stroll through this beautiful green space by using the boardwalks that connect the area known as "Virgen del Mar" with "Punta Candor". "La Forestal" is the large pine tree forest that runs along a good part of Rota's coastal area, giving this town a huge 'green lung'. Estos pinares, de gran valor medioambiental, son el lugar perfecto no solo para pasear o hacer deporte, sino también para el disfrute de niños y no tan niños. Precisamente junto a este hotel, en la bajada hacia la Playa de los Corrales, se encuentra habilitada un área para la realización de picnics, si bien está prohibido hacer fuego por el riesgo de incendio en la zona.
Desde hace años, desde Virgen del Mar hasta Punta Candor se puede recorrer a través de pasarelas de madera que se interrumpen solo en el Hotel Playa de la Luz. La Forestal es una gran zona de pinares que ocupa buena parte del litoral roteño, dotando de un gran pulmón verde a esta localidad.
